There's mention of him in Uddingston as early as 1912 and certainly he seems to have been working actively in the area.
Could the Aberdeenshire family have travelled for a wedding or suchlike, and taken the opportunity to have their picture taken whilst there?

Maybe he did travel around too, though. Just come across mention in 1911 Kirkintilloch newspaper, of Arthur Lemay, Uddingston, for use of a hall from time to time, for photographic purposes.
