WW1 death - where can I find details on the burial site?

Good evening

My gt grandmothers brother William A Rosenbaum (SS8171/309133) died 12/6/1918 during WW1 in France. I would appreciate some advice on how can I get more information as to where he is buried and how he may have died? Picture attached

Hello Justin,

That is the date (12/6/18) that he was discharged due to sickness or wounds, as he was awarded the Silver War Badge.

(1) France, 25/4/16 is the criteria for his 1914/15 Star award.

I think rumours of his death may be exagerated  ;D

He was Discharged on 12th June 1918 "no longer physically fit for War Service"  According to the records Ady mentions he was hospitalized in Aberdeen for 9 days from 19th Feb. 1918, having arrived back in the UK on 18th Feb.

He does not appear on http://www.cwgc.org therefore I would suggest to you that, if he did die of wounds/illness attributed to WW1, he died after 31st August 1921, in the UK.

Perhaps you misread  disc ie discharged as died in the remarks column? at a fleeting glance it would be easy to do(dodgy clerks 90 yr old writing!) :)

HOW EMBARASSING!!!

You know how it is fellow Rootschatters, late into the night, glass of wine in the hand and you just assume it says Died when in fact it says Disc(harged!)...

I knew something wasn't right as I too checked the Commonwealth Graves and found nothing!!

Just out of interest then folks... how can we get more information on his time during WW1 and the nature of his injuries etc...?

If you PM me your email addy I'll happily forward the 4 pages of his details to you from Ancestry.  They do have some info re. his injuries etc, but it's in Doctors writing  :-\
