I was just wondering how you might have found the buriel number for you loved one I have a picture of the buriel but no other info.  And the picture is very old and hard to read.
I am presuming by your other post it is the Macharay you are wanting to know the grave number

This is a possibility names for Machray have been miss spelt also the grave would
be in a section with an alphabet (A to Z ?) you can find Southern Cemetery burials on http//www.burialrecords.manchester.gov.uk. you can view the index but for any further info there is a charge

Grave No.  section ( ? )  1215

Percy Thackery buried 21/5/1900
Robert Cartwright buried 25/4/1921
Alexander MacHray buried 29/1/1939
Mary Jane Mackray biried 10/3/1942
Elizabeth MacHray buried 30/3/1967

Hope this helps

Hi Angie

Well this is a mystery ??? The burial site only lists these people in all the cemeteries

29/01/1937 Alexander MacHray Southern Cemetery 1215
30/03/1967 Elizabeth MacHray Southern Cemetery 1215
31/05/1929 Sophia MacHray Southern Cemetery 632

28/06/1899 Alexander MacKray Southern Cemetery 632
10/03/1942 Mary Jane MacKray Southern Cemetery 1215

Must be a transcription error on the system

As photos cannot be uploaded to this forum, could you transcribe the details on the headstone which you say is in Southern

Regards
Ken

Well I surely started something with my query about a grave in the Southern Cemetery, Manchester and am very glad that someone else has posted and been successful in locating family details as a result.  I have not yet purchased the death certificate for Naomi Elizabeth Costello but am waiting on a further film of Ireland marriages via the LDS Church here.  I have seen up the middle of the World War I years so if this next one doesn't turn up a marriage of the couple in Ireland one would suspect it took place elsewhere.  Naomi  born in Dublin is in the 1911 census for Dublin and was unmarried then.   It is online which is a bonus.   If the film doesn't show something maybe that death certificate will be required

Good work on the other grave too folks
