Hi Helen,

Not sure if you solved the ancestry problem but I logged in to ancestry.co.uk and entered in Edward Bunton in the search field with a birth date of 1888 and then added Canada to the "lived in (residence)" box.  It returned a about 10 records from Canada and then from the US.  Maybe you can do the same to see if you get the same results.

I have uncovered some long buried stuff and I think you are looking for my grandfathers (Francis Bunton/Bunten) brother.  His father was Hugh Bunten, mother Helen Bunten (nee Margaret Skachill).   Granddad did live at 145 Richmond St. W. Toronto when he signed up to serve in WW1.  I have some other stuff including a Certificate of Death from the Province of Manitoba for an Edward Bunten, registered Nov. 16, 1967 and it list his parents as Hugh Bunten and Ellen Skachill

Francis Patrick Bunton (Scotland, 6 November 1889-1977) ended up in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada and died there at the age of 87. His digitized death registration record is

He was predeceased by his wife Ethel May Bunton in 1971; her death registration record is

They had a son named Edward. He worked as a telegraph operator as you can discover through an Internet search. An Edward A. Bunton whose life dates are given as June 24, 1923 - October 18, 2013 appears in an online obituary guestbook at

http://obits.dignitymemorial.com/dignity-memorial/obituary.aspx?n=Edward-Bunton&lc=3813&pid=167700508&mid=5717087

I believe that's the son of Francis and Ethel.
