hi emms thanks for that but i dont know who i'm looking for in the 1911 census i dont know if james was married by then or not i dont know his wifes name or his parents so i would't know if it was staring me in the face. thanks anyway emms i could do with the irish 1922 census and then i'd know by their childrens names. thanks anyway. jean

Hi

I did have a quick look and there are nine James Grogan's but I didn't know if any of them were near the place you said.

The other problem is variations in spellings.  I found a froiend's Irish family still with great variation in spelling, even up to WW1.
