Hi

Have you tried checking the WW1 service records for a possible clue for the father?.  He looks to have been the right age - The surviving record are gradually going online  at Ancestry.

Best wishes

Hi

Thinking about it, the other place to try would be the |Irish Census for 2922 which is online for Dublin onky so far.  Free to view the original and fascinating.

I'll look for a link, but easiest is to look at the link at the top of the Dublin board.

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/
Link to 1911 Dublijn Census (Modified).

Hi Me yet again!

If your library has the Gale Newspaper Archive online, I've had quite a few entries from the Dublin papers for bmd's.  They weren't al;l the rich and famous either.  In fact quite the opposite.

I'll have a look around.

Best wishes
