Thanks everyone . I Think I have enough to say that she was the daughter of James & Rose.

Sorry to disagree!! but I cant see any evidence that she is their daughter! She is with Edith in 1901, both as boarders in the same house, but she could be Edith's cousin, for example.

Obviously it is entirely up to you, but I wouldnt want to say who her parents were without the cert or some other evidence. Just a shame we cant get the family in 1891 all together. Or even all apart for that matter!

If I am to understand that Augusta's Father is named as James and Edith's father is James and they as you rightly point out are living together in the same road as James and rose .... there  is some evidence . Also the only other Augusta    Bashford  Born the same year was from Tarring Sussex  and that's not stated on the census for the girl living with Edith.  As we cannot find the Family in the 1891 census I only have the fact that no other Augusta other than the one in Tarring who To my knowage is no relation falls within the right Area or time .

Augusta's Father is named as James

I must have missed this bit! Didnt know that we knew her father was named as James anywhere. That would certainly help.

I  did some doube cheaking and have totaly discounted the Augusta from Sussex Tarring  . Her Family can account for her in the 1901 census .

Agreed - there is no reason to think she is anything to do with this group.
The Augusta with Edith is definitely the one born 1882 in Tonbridge area - never any hint she would be the one born in Tarring! though always best to double check!

"Your" Edith is born 1882 Tonbridge, cant be found 1891, and is boarding alongside Edith in 1901. Edith is a daughter of JAmes and Rose - she is with them as a baby in 1881.

But th eonly way to be sure Augusta is (or indeed isnt) their daughter too is to get her birth cert.
Unless you already have her marriage cert giving her father's name as James.(you say in last but one post, that I quoted last time, that you DO know her father is James - where did that come from? I can only think that you have marriage cert
