Hello Jenn

On A.. the additional on the image is Tonbridge Kent 1823. I would be interested if this is the sum total, or there is information other than "the original paper slip index" which forms the images.

Trish

PS My OH has family from Tonbridge and nearby

Thanks Trisha

I  did have that bit of information I  should have posted it . I realise  it is not a "marriage certificate" as we know it  but I  wondered if  their might be anything further.

I  had posted a couple of  years ago about  Phillidelphia, but  could not find any  details for  her parents. I  know she died in 3rd quarter 1849 at Tonbridge,  which meant  no  census information  for 1851  and in 1841  she  is not born in County.

I  have  been able to work  backwards and forwards with Peter Shoebridge who is GGGGfather on my fathers side of  the family.,  with a little help from  my  friends on RC and further afield.

Hi Jenn

Sorry, should have realised you had all that. Someone has been detailing the lady, some time ago, on the IGI. Was that you? the death is given

The marriage is given as 6 Apr 1823 - If anyone has access to the parish record, you could cross fingers for a father of the bride? (or do you have this also?)

Hi Jenn/Trish  :)

On a 1823 marriage certificate it would sometimes say by Banns or Licence.

Also it can say if bachlelor or spinster and if from another Parish.

Possible to all so note if with consent of parents if either under age.

Possible witnesses could be relations or Church Wardens etc.

Only father's name if a witness until 1837 when his name and occupation
would be noted also.

Thanks Sandy - I find many of the OPRs in Scotland contain the name of the father of the bride, but must admit I don't think I've seen in in England - shame it is  :(

Thanks Ladies
four  that information.

Trisha , I  had seen  the mariage dtails on  the IGI  but no idea  who if anyone had placed it there or if  it was from  the Pallot's marriages.

Sandy,  have you  any  idea how I  could go  about getting a copy  of  the marriage?

I would hazard a guess and say  the death certificate from 1849  would not hold a great deal of information either?

English death certificates are not a vast amount of information Jenn - but you can be lucky as I once found, however, on a female death you usually get a husband, which you know & the informant is likely to be husband or child, which you probably know as well. Parents are unlikely to happen unless she died in her parents home - unlikely. The parish record for the marriage may be a better option - it may indicate if they came from another parish - but if the whole family had moved, you would be none the wiser

Someone from the area will hopefully pass by with more information  :), if not you could try a request for a parish lookup, or get the film if you are anywhere near an LDS centre

Thanks for  that advice  Trisha, I  wonder  if  the film  will  just show  the same as the Pallot's details?

Yes  I  do  have all  the children a large number of  them to be sure ;) All  I want  is to  find  her birth details.
