Tape family of Clonmel
« on: Friday 12 September 08 20:25 BST (UK) »
Hi
I've just started researching my Grandmother's family in Tipperary: Jane Tape born in Clonmel October 1858 daughter of Thomas Tape and Margaret Mcgrath. I have found there is a brother William born 1866 and sister Margaret born 1865 from the IGI. I would very much like to know when Jane Tape died, we were told it was when my grandmother was very young, she was born in 1896  I know nothing more than this so any further information anyone can help me with on this family would be gratefully received as official routes are so expensive.
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Peter
Thanks for your interest. I have found the families on the Bru Boru website and have the dates of marriage and deaths for Thomas and Margaret Tape and the birth of Jane Tape senior but not her death. Thomas was a tailor.  I ordered  the 1901 census for Clonmel including William St where Grandmother was born but there is no sign of the family there, probably on the missing pages.
I am now waiting for the GRO deaths to arrive to try and find where and when Jane senior dies so I am in limbo at the moment . I don't seem to be getting very far considering I have not come across very many entries with the name of Tape on what has been checked to date.
