Train death 1877

Hi, 

I have a death certificate for my gg/grandfather Henry Maltby who was killed in 1877 by an engine on the Great Western Railway at Taplow.  I am keen to find out more about the accident and obtain a copy of the coroners report.

Can someone please tell me where I could start.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Chris,

Bucks History Centre/Record Office will probably have copies of the local newspapers and might be able to advise which one would carry a report of the accident and if it is available to view, usually on microfilm.

They might also be able to advise on any coroner's report.

Thank you both so much. I'll get cracking straight away.  Henry was a gardener but I'm not sure if he was actually employed by the railways or not.
