Have spent a lot of time originally looking for John Curtis as this was name of my grandfather's father on my g.parents marriage cert.I have sent for a number of birth certs and they have not matched...the nearest I have come up with is Bernard Joseph because his wife is Jane and the 3 children's names are the same.,also the dates fit in. Perhaps he was known as John, I don't know.
I have found Jane and the children on census returns where she is stated as being a widow.
I decided to look on here because a Bernard Joseph kept coming up as being born in Ireland, his parents were Andrew and Susannah. I put Bernard's name in the Roots search and this page came up with Bernard Joseph Curtis mentioned.
Basically I'm stuck as to where to look next, anyway thank you so much for your help.

Ooops sorry, yes an approximate date would help.I would assume his birth year to be around about 1860, I have found nothing  about him so far, I know my grandfather (John) was born in Liverpool in 1885 and had 2 younger sisters, their mother was Jane ? On my grandparents marriage cert it states his father as John Andrew (deceased) but I have found absolutely nothing to match up....the best I came up with was Bernard Joseph Curtis who married Jane and had 3 children...the names all match, This was on baptism records.
Thank you so much for your help.
