What you have just posted is the 1881 census details, that I had given before - same person, same family, same household.

The 1861 one you have found looks very much like the same family - Hannah and Anna are often mixed.

by the way - it looks as if you have "cut and pasted" the census details from the index of another site - this actually breaches copyright. Although the information itself is not copyrighted, the sites themselves are - hence you should not pass on the info in a cut and paste form, but type it up in your own words, so to speak. (the ones I typed up for you were as I read the image, not just the index)

what i mean is that there is a william Stockley registered on both census - but with different (similar) named parents

Anna / hannah
jas / james

also williams sister is registered as Ellen / Elizabeth on both census...

Could this be mis spellings or simply that there is 2 different William Stockleys born in the same year in same area etc?

Jas is a recognised abbreviation for James
Hannah and Anna are frequently interchanged

Are there two JAmes Stockleys iwith the same families in Little Bloxwith ever on the SAME census at the same time? That would prove there are two families with Willams.

I havent looked closley but on the censuses I have looked at there are only one,so I am pretty sure there is just the one family.

Well done Liz,with finding Amelia's family,but it didn't get us any nearer finding Robert did it 

Sonstar PM'd me yesterday about him ,but like you I had no luck finding him.

I was surprised that someone who was Jesse's brother ie born around 1860 ish would have married someone called Brenda.There are less than 20 in the whole country up till about 1900.

More popular a surname in Scotland I believe.

I also suggested that Sonstar buy that 1907 marriage cert to confirm that we are indeed chasing the right Bentley family.

Let us know when you have it Sonia, and Liz and I will start looking for them again
