1901 stephen Aiano living Isle of Wight but born kent
« on: Monday 08 September 08 08:51 BST (UK) »
i have a 1901 census report for a Stephen Aiano who is 35 a grocers clerk born canterbury living with Helen Helyer servant age 33 housekeeper at west villa stables park rd ryde isle of wight.
but he doesnt fit in anywhere with the rest of the family.
i dont have anyone who has a son called Stephen this late in the family. so is he a descendent of the original family Stephen? that is the only time the name appears in the family. there there are 2 in a row. one born 1787 his son born 1832. could he be their descendent or where has he come from.
as all the Aiano in this country are linked it would be nice to fit him in.

can anyone help.

His birth is on FreeBMD.  The 1881 is free to search too.  Always worth checking these things before you post and then we can look for things that you cannot find for yourself.  You were given this family by Kerryb and Eyesee in another earlier post about George so the birth place of Canterbury should have been a good clue as to which branch of the family he fitted into.

unfortunately i dont have access to ancesty or money to purchase certificates.
i also tried looking at posts that ive already done and info ive already got but still couldnt place him.
and with so many wrong transcriptions of this name ive found it really impossible to find some of them . i only get 2 hours a day in the mornings to do any searchning. sometimes less than that and my computer was out for a month and ive only had it back a few days.

although i did try to check all the listings prior to losing my computer it is possible i didnt spot this reply to an earlier posting. a month is a lot to catch up on. also the computer i am using at the moment is one of the kids so i dont as yet have access to my emails. theres possibly messages for me from new contacts but i cant get to them at the moment.
however i am about to start writing this tree down now so its possible il find more lop holes.
just everyone bare with me if i repeat stuff.

Hi Kas
I dont have a Stephen Aiano but i do have a John Aiano B 1860 Blean Kent. He Married my Great Grandmothers sister Sophia Rumbold. They had 2 children John Cyril B 1889 Folkestone and Gladys Lillian B 1893 Folkestone. John senior died 6th Oct 1893.
Gladys died along with her mother on 18 Nov 1940 when the hotel they owned or ran ( not sure which ) was bombed to the ground in WW2. Hav,nt followed up on John junior as of yet.

hi
just wanted to say thank you for replying to this thread
ive only just found your post today after all this time.
that is due to the break up of my marriage in octo 08 and the subsequent traumatic 18months that followed. this resulteed in me moving and also my computer going wrong. i lost a awful lot of information when that happened. its irripairable.
the great thing with the aianos is they all stem from one ancestor who came over here from italy.
which is great cos it means that they should all fit in there somewhere.
i will have a look at the information you have given me and check it out.

life is still not totally settled so if i dont get abck to this again for a while please bear with me.
