More recent relatives in Tipperary

Hello! I can find lots of records relating to earlier bmd's in Tipperary, but I need to start right near the beginning of my family tree and find my Grandfather and his siblings. I know their names (Leslie Patrick Holmes, Pearl Holmes, Desmond Holmes, Earl Holmes, Gabriel Holmes, Marina Holmes and Allan Holmes in case they ring a bell to anyone) and I know that they were born in Co. Tipperary and possibly came from Cashel, but other than knowing what year Pearl was born in (1933) and a rough estimate of when my Grandfather Leslie was born (1934), I don't have many details. Their father was Joseph Holmes. They moved to England at some point, again I don't know when.
So, with these sparse details, does anyone have any ideas about how I could go about getting more info about them, such as mother's maiden name, dates of birth, marriages, etc?
And do I have to go to Tipperary to search their records?
I was considering trying the central database in Dublin to search for the BMDs.

You should apply for the birth cert of either your grandfather or Pearl and details of how to do this and an application form can be found here:

This is what they say:

You can apply in writing, by fax or in person giving as many details of the birth, death or marriage as you can, i.e. full names, date and location of event, parent's names and occupations, mother's maiden names etc. Obviously the more information you can give us the more chance we have of finding the records you are looking for. Our index and records are date based and are in a manual format so we will need accurate dates (correct year at least).
The absolute minimum information we need is the forename and surname (of both parties if it's a marriage) and the year the event occurred.
