Lookup 1851 Cheshire - McDonald

Hi,

Please could someone lookup the family, address, & reference detail for Mary Ellen McDonald in 1851.  She should have been born between 1842 & 1850.

Her mother should be Jane McDonald, although she may not be living with her.  The same with her father who would be Joseph McDonald.

The other thing is that they could be listed as Mc Donald (with a space) or MacDonald.  McDonald would be the correct spelling though.

Hi Rob,

I have done a soundex search to take care of the spelling variations for a Mary McDonald born within the specified parameters in the 1851 census and get 200 hits.  Do you have any other information that could help to narrow down the search?

For example, do you know where she was born, and how have you narrowed down her date of birth?

Hi Jean,

Thank you for looking, I didn't realize there was so many. 

She was most likely born between 1847 & 1849, if it helps but that is not definite, she was registered as 13 in 1861.

She was born in Manchester, Lancashire.

Still nothing obvious.  Can you provide the 1861 census reference for her?  Is she with either of her parents and, if not, have you found them in the 1861 census?

in 1861 I believe she was at :-

18 Gregson Street, Parish of St Johns, Manchester. 
Age 13  Born Manchester, Lancashire
RG9 2942 Folio:25 Page:3

Her parents were also there they are :-
Joseph McDonald Age 41  Born in Ireland. Bricklayer
Jane McDonald (Nee Bell) Age 41  Born Manchester, Lancashire.

Her brother was also there (born 1855)
