Make sure your GECOM files are in a safe location and backed up before trying the following.
You need to uninstall Roots Magic.
Got to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
It will be interesting to see whether there are two seperate entries for Roots Magic.
Once you have completed this, go to:
C:\Program Files and make sure the folder Roots Magic no longer exists. If it does then delete it.
Then go to:
C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name.
Explore the hidden folders:
Application Data
Local Settings
Look for any folders called Roots Magic and delete them.
You may want to download a free copy of CCleaner if you do not already have one form:
http://www.ccleaner.com/Click on the Registry button on the left hand column and run that to clean up your registry.
Also run the Cleaner to make sure everything has been removed.
Once all this has been done, re-install Roots Magic from disk. You may be prompted to re-register your copy of Roots Magic again. At this stage don't re-register until everything is working. Import your gedcom files and test everything first.
