I am having a bit of trouble tracing Jesse's children.  He had a son names James Thomas who in 1911 was working out of Spon Lane.  I've not had much success finding marriage/death record for him.

It also appears Jesse had an adopted names Christie Bevington who in 1911 as aged 4.  I have had no success finding further records for her.

Hi everyone this is a fantastic thread I have enjoyed reading it emmensly. My husband's grandmother was born on a working canal boat her father was Morris from a long line of Welsh miners - a landie - he had married the daughter of (so I have been told) of two well established "boat families" from Shepshed, Liecestershire the Drapers and the Jennings the Morrises then worked the canals in the Midlands, Liecestershire and Northamptonshire another name that pops up is Whale who worked on the Dudley railway and became a boatie x

                    Lot of my wife's family and mine worked on the boats my wife's family name is priddy my mum side is gibbons his name was William born 1898 runcorn he then married my gran fanny James in 1918 who was the sister of  Jack James born oxford who  started the canal water way museum at stoke bruerne but its the gibbons side I'm stuck on i think William farther was thomas gibbons and his mum was Hannah

hi john i have found william with mother and father thomas and hannah also with jessie aged 2 and lottie aged 2 months, there are also a family named the dickinson's elizabeth 14,william 12,lucy 10, and ethel all saying they are thomas's children ? this is from the 1901 census all born runcorn cheshire. on a barge thomas is listed as canalboatman.

any other help needed let me know

hi again john on the 1891 census thomas is with mother jane and father william gibbons also brother william 16, brother joseph h 13, jessie 9, albert 7,gertrude m 4 and  grandmother mary robinson 56 she was born marple derbyshire so she could be janes mother.

it says thomas and william are watermen, younger william is a drapers assistant and joseph is a grocers assistant
