Correction

Beach you are right, Star of the Sea records are held at Sandymount Parish.

The librarian at NLI also said Donnybrook Parish may also have some Star of the Sea records.

Eileen
Just reading the info on Sandymount Parish, Donnybrook parish was mentioned.   Which church would this be in Donnybrook.   I am looking for a christening in1875, around October for person living in Irishtown Road.   At that time there seemed to be a change over of parishes????

This link lists district, name of church and hopefully email address.
It may be of help.

This is great news.  I have great great grandparents who married there.  I have their marriage cert but am hoping the church register will give me their mothers' names.  Hopefully since I have the exact date, it won't take too long for them to find it!

Hi, a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be in Dublin and undertook a bit of family research. My great grandparents were married at this church in 1892. Although the lady in the office was very busy, we were more than happy to wait (for as long as it took) she very helpfully looked up the record in question from the original book!! The record did show the address of my gg grandparents in Irishtown at the time of their daughters marriage and more fantastic the maiden name of my gg grandmother - another piece of the jigsaw. Since being home I have managed to find out some more information and have emailed the parish office with a few questions and currently waiting on a reply.
