So, it's now up to Lorraine to get the certs and find out who Daniel's father is
There's no point in us looking on the 1901 for an Evans in possibly Liverpool

HI, thanks for all your input,
I dont know Ann's maiden name but i know she died Oct 1968 and her birth would be approx 1912, if that could help?
I havent used GRO or anything yet just the free sites so would i be better off getting the marriage cert? That would give me his father's name, wouldnt it, but not place of birth! Sorry if i'm asking dumb questions
Thanks Gadget and Nick I searched freebmd before and was sure there wasnt his birth or close matches there. Maybe I should give my eyes a rest from time to time

Death record:
Ann Evans, Dec q, Liverpool N, vol 10d, page 253
If you don't know Ann's background, the marriage cert would be the best one to buy initially. It will show both fathers' names and occupations.

Hi Lorraine
It might be worth you checking on FreeBMD for a Walmsley/Thompson marriage pre- Dec q 1912. Use Walmsley as it's less common that Thompson. If it's there, then you're probably well on the way to getting Ann's parents on the 1901
