Hi Elise, have the index of the photos scanned and can save them to a CD and am happy to post it to you at the State Library or drop it in next Thursday. How exciting to find another copy of the album.

Hi Elise, I just viewed the digital album and it is great to see your version includes another section of Cairo to Gallipoli. The album and index I have is Kensington to Cairo. I think the index booklet of photo captions should match up to your album. I will email you. Regards Susan.

Hi Elise, Andrew and Susan, I just saw a piece on ABC News about the exhibition at the State Library and HC Marshall's album. I must admit I had forgotten about our email conversations. When I was in Tasmania last year I visited the Devonport cemetery and found all the Marshall headstones. They even had one for HC (sharing with a sister) they has put the WW1 medallion sent to family members on the headstone. I anyone is interested I can send a photo. It interesting how many photographers there were in the family. My Great Uncle Mathew Thom Brown (HC cousin) was also a photographer from Devonport who took lots of war photos.
How long is the exhibition at the State Library one for. I will have to go and see it.
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth,

the exhibition is on until 21 September 2014. You will see that we are using many of Henry Charles' photographs as 'hero' images on banners, etc.

Hope you can get there and have a look. They are extraordinary photos.

Elise

Hi Elise, Elizabeth and Andrew,  In a funny twist of fate - I recognised some of HC Marchall's photos in a set to postcards my company printed for the State Library to accompany the exhibition. Very excited that his photos of the 1st Battalion AIF are to be included and I'm looking forward to visiting the exhibition. It always amazes me how random events become interconnected. regards
Susan
