Anderson; Gammie-Anderson
« on: Saturday 30 August 08 18:45 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I have found an Isabella Gammie Anderson born 1875 to David Anderson and Isabella Gammie, who were married in 1866. She appears to be the sister of my gggrandmother Janet Anderson b 1871. Can anyone see Isabella G Anderson in any census or seen who she married, please? Am not having much luck with Scotland's People. I would like to know if David and Isabella had any more children - there was meant to be a brother.
Thanks, hopefully.

Well done Monica.  Isabella's birth place being shown as Mary Cutter should have read Maryculter (Kincardineshire).
She was born there on 15 Mar 1838 her parents being George Gammie and Jane Silver.

Isles.

That's great Isles :)

To round off the censuses, by 1891, the family look to have moved to Peebleshire. James looks to have been their last born son:

David Anderson 49, hotel keeper, b. Eddleston, Peeblesshire
Isabella Anderson 48, b. Maryculter, Kincardine Shire
George Anderson 18
Isabella G Anderson 15
James A Anderson 11

Address: Burnside Cottage, Kilbucho, Broughton and Glenholm, Peebleshire

And back to Midlothian for 1901:

David Anderson 63, Garden Labourer
Isabella Garume Anderson 63
George Anderson 28

Address: Main St Isla Bank, Lasswade

In case you would like to see a photo of Burnside Cottage, I am attaching one taken in 1911 with Gavin Greenshields.
