Have you looked at the IGI - the International Genealogical Index on FamilySearch at:
http://www.familysearch.org

The marriage is there (1854) and the birth of George in 1856 (statutory registration began in 1855).

I am having no joy finding these folks on the 1861 census - even checking by given name only? Have you previously looked for them on the Census for Scotland? Did they move elsewhere - emigrate? It could always be a bad transcription, but I'm certainly not having any luck
