Marriage Lookup Request 1790 St Georges, Hanover Square

I'm looking for the marriage details for James Abbott and Sarah Lewsbe (although I've heard it might be Sarah Titcher) 30 September 1790 at St Georges, Hanover Square, London. I know the records are at Westminster City Archives.

Would anyone be able to assist with a lookup ? Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm currently doing look-ups at the London Metropolitan Archives (see my post at the top of the London & Middx boards) and also at the Westminster City Archives but not as regularly as the LMA. I'm hoping to get there sometime in September but I need a days worth of look-ups before I go to make it worth my while.

I'll add you to my list and let you know what I find.

As the marriage is pre-1837, all that I'm likely to find is the bride and grooms names, marital status, and their parish at the time of their marriage, the date, their signatures or marks and the signatures or marks of their witnesses. You won't get ages, unless a minor, their occupations or the fathers names unless they acted as a witness.

Hi Dawn, thanks for that. The info that you'll be finding is just the sort of info I'm after. I need confirmation of the brides maiden name, and if at all possible, the grooms home town, although his parish will do !

James Abbott and Sarah Titcher both of this parish were married in this
church by Banns this 30th day of September in the year 1790 by me Thomas Ash Curate
This marriage was solumnized between us

William Wallace (signed his name)
Jane Blickynden (signed her name but difficult to transcribe)

Dawn, your info has helped me to find the maiden name for Sarah Titcher and her first husbands details and from all of that her birthplace and all of that has helped to explain why James and Sarah decided to live in Woodbury, Devon where she died in 1834.
