confusion over GG.Grandad-surname HUNT
« on: Wednesday 27 August 08 13:23 BST (UK) »
good afternoon all.

am currently trying...with difficulty :-[...to confirm the identity of my great great grandad.

His sons name(my g.grandad) was Charles Hunt, born in London in 1872,died in London 1911.
Charles was married to Blanche Louise Hulbert.

From research i had done,i was under the impression that Charles"s parents were named William and Eliza.William born in Burrington,Somerset in appx 1833

However, someone else researching the family tree has hisparents as George Hunt born 1844,and the mother as Emma, born c1852.

I can"t get in contact with the other researcher at the moment, and the confusion is driving me mad. ::)
Any help/confirmation would be much appreciated

regards
Chris

The confusion arises because of 2 possible entries and only way to confirm is from marriage certificate as already suggested.

In 1901 Charles gives his birthplace as Bethnal Green.
In 1891 he appears to be with mother Eliza, again born Bethnal Green
In 1881 with parents William and Eliza but birthplace this time is Bow.   However, there is a Charles b. Bethnal Green with a George and Emma.

Have to have confirmation of father from marriage certificate and hopefully your neice will have this.
