Hoy in Essex
« on: Monday 25 August 08 19:40 BST (UK) »
My husbands ggrandfather was Thomas Hoy whom died on Ongar Railway in 1890 sadly no inquest report has yet come to light.
What has come to light is that Thomas also had a older brother called Joseph whom also lost his life to the railway unfortunately
as yet i am still trying to obtain the inquest report.
It has been said that the younger brother William also died but at the moment i have not got a death cert to prove this.
It is a very unfortunate family as Thomas's son Charles died an early death at the age of 27yrs of exhaustion. This left his 4 children all under 5 without a dad.
I am little by little endeavouring to put the Hoy family together again, what little there is of it.
I am unable to find a1851  census for James and Jane in Magadalen Laver so if there are any earlier children than Joseph i would love to know. i do have the 1861,1871,1881
If you are connected to this Hoy family then drop me a line.
Regards
Trumli
