Nonconformist churches in Newcastle (for MILLER)
« on: Monday 25 August 08 07:56 BST (UK) »
Dear List,
I have a family that definitely lived in the St Nicholas area - in St Nicholas Close & in Old Dolphin Close in the 1840's & 1850's, but I am unable to find any baptisms in the nearby Anglican churches.

Can anyone tell me which Methodist & Presbyterian chapels would be near to the St Nicholas church area of Newcastle?

The family I am researching is:
William MILLER
  b. 1817, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
  occ. Chain maker or blacksmith
& Margaret MIDDLEMAS (possibly daughter of Edward & Alice Renshaw)
  b. 12 Mar 1814, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
  m. 1838, St John The Baptist, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
|   Isabella MILLER
|     b. 1839, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
|   John MILLER
|     b. 1841, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
|   Margaret MILLER
|     b. 24 Dec 1843, St Nicholas Area, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
|     d. 29 Jan 1903, 150 Walker Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
|   & Thomas LACKENBY
|     b. abt Dec 1841, Bill Quay, Heworth, Durham, England
|     d. 23 Jan 1900, 236 Albion Row, Byker, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
|     m. 20 Jul 1863, St John the Baptist, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
|   Thomas MILLER
|     b. 1848, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
|   William MILLER
|     b. Apr 1851, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England

Any guidance at all appreciated  :),
Cheers,
Trix

Thank you Stan.
I'll get looking at a Newcastle map to see which are close to the family!

Cheers,
Trix ;D
