Thanks Adam,
Joseph and John are on my tree.  The others may be related but too far out on the twigs for now.

Hello Deborah. There are two for Thomas Chapman. Not the Thomas Chapman that you mention but possibly the same family:-

Sacred to the preservation of the memory of Thomas Chapman, late of Hamsterley, who resigned this life 18/May/1799 aged 95 years.
Also of Margaret Chapman, daughter of the aforesaid Thomas and Mary his wife, who departed this life 3/July/1803 age 45 years
Also Mary wife of the above Thomas Chapman, who departed this life 27/August/1812 aged 84 years.

Sacred to the memory of Thomas Chapman late of Hamsterley, gentleman, who departed this life 8th day of January 1839 aged 79 years.

Also to the sacred memory of Elizabeth Chapman, widow of the above named Thomas Chapman, who departed this life 17th day of September 1846 in the 80th year of her age.

There are no Bland gravestones at Hamsterley.

Thank you so much adam. I don't recognise these names  :(, they are not my direct ancestors but could be cousins etc , I believe Hamsterley was a small village. Perhaps I cam widen my search and see if these people fit into my tree.
Thank you once again for your time.

Hi Adam

Thank you very much for the info. As you say, not the Thomas I am looking for but they may be connected. I'll keep searching.

Are there any other chapmans, just out of interest?

Hello Deborah. If you mean any more Chapman inscriptions in Hamsterley the answer is no.
I do have inscriptions for Chapman at Wolsingham, Witton le Wear, Hunwick, Crook, St Helen Auckland and Willington.
