Gorman Look-up/Cookstown, Co. Tyrone
« on: Saturday 23 August 08 18:03 BST (UK) »
Hello All,
My GGF, Willliam Gorman was a boot trader who lived on Orritor Street, Cookstown.  Know the following: 1. GGF marriage on 05/02/1846 in Donaghmore Parish Tyrone. William Gorman to Letitia McCourt witnessed by Eugene and Mary McCourt. 2. Children born 02/12/1849 were Mary of Wm Gorman and Letitia McCourt---He also used Wm in Griffiths, Patrick (my GF) on 15/05/1852 of William Gorman and Alice McCort----her name is different on every document and William 0n 07/03/1858 of William Gorman and Alicia McCourt.
I know what happened to Patrick--myGF---and William Jr. whose death was reported by Letitia on 22/06/1872.
Can anyone find any info re death of William(Wm) Gorman, Letitia Gorman or marriage/death of Mary Gorman.  With thanks, S

You could check PRONI website for Gorman in the Will Searches (site wasn't working earlier today but just keep trying as it often goes haywire).
Don't know of any index to local newspapers there so probably church records/gravestones, directories and census records (1901 & 1911) might be your only sources other than going through civil death indexes.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thanks so much for the suggestions. Found my GFs will at PRONI when first started in the early 1980s  but never thought to look for GGF.
Appreciate the help. Sheila
