HI JO
I am sorry but unfortunatly i dont have to many details. i know that she married walter cliffe in leeds in 1911 and had her daughter  florance in 1914 she may also have had a son arthur. i can not remmeber when she died but i think it was definatley after 1958 as she used to look after me when i was small. i am not sure where they lived but i know that walter lived in cottingley when he died i also know that at some time they lived in "chambers" which i think may have been to do with a bank in the city centre of leeds. i also know that walter had some dealings with leeds city council and i belive he lent them money. just a family story. or is it

Hi there is a Mary Elizabeth Dickinson born in Leeds in 1890 showing on FreeBMD - that would make her 21 so it is a possibility. Do you have a copy of her marriage certificate to Walter? That way you can find her fathers name - then look at the 1901 census to see if you can find more. Good luck.  :)

Hi Crystal Tips

I've only just come across your post - not bad, 7 years to find it. ::)

I have a couple of Dickensons from Plumpton (I think the 'e' and 'i' was often interchangeable), if you're still around I wonder if they link to your family?  Details are:

George Dickenson (Shoe maker) born about 1808 in Plumpton, by 1851 was living in Coombe Down, Bath

Joseph Dickenson (Carpenter) born about 1809 in Plumpton, by 1851 was living in Coombe Down, Bath

At the moment I think they may have been brothers, do the names mean anything to you?

Regards

Hi Dawn

I've just rechecked my records for Joseph, he does show a DOB as 1812 on both the 1851 & 1861 census.  Seems like we have a match, for which I thank you.  Joseph is on my line (my mother was a Dickenson) but as I've not been able to find much on line regarding parish records pre 1837, a visit to the records office was on my long term "to do" list.

Any details you can supply on the family would be greatly appreciated, are you interested in the information I have on Joseph and George?

Regards
Chris
