Hi ,
I forot to say that I think that there was a big rift in te family after Jessie died.  The older children seemed not to communicate with the younger ones of the second marriage.  When I asked no one seemed to know about him (John) and his new wife, even though she died in 1945, which was the yer after my gt grandfather alex died.  I am going to do some work on this during the winter months to see what became of all the children in both marriages.
Does anyone remember my family?  Probably if my mum had lived a bit longer we would all have been in touch.  Does your Marjory live in Stonehaven?  I had contact with a lovely lady in Stonehaven, but my computer crashed last year and I lost touch with many of the pople  contacted.  My computer neded a new 'Motherboard', so it was cheaper to buy a new computer.  However, I could not access my emails on google.... I wasreally upset about this....do you know this lady as he was also a descendant of Thomas and Christina....I think she was a grandaughter, but they brought her up as her mum was not married at the time.  She is in her 80's.  If you are in touch, please send her my regards.
Keep in touch,
Lynda

Hi ,

No Ihave not come across the name 'Mearns'.  I thought 'mearns' was the name for Kincardinshire.  Maye they adpted that name.... just an idea.  The only thing is to research the name.  Possibly the name of her father.....what you think?
