Jennifer   :) ~

I think the information that Karen gave us  is seriously wrong, as I said in my previous message.

It might help if you could put up the info from the 1901 census when the family where in Inveresk (you found them first  ;) ;)  )

I also found that George Adams, aged 10 on the 1901, was b. 1890 in Saltoun, East Lothian.

The birth dates for Isaac and John were taken from the index at A***y - I don't have a sub at the moment.
Perhaps Karen could put it up for us.

Ok,

I throw in the towel.

I got some my information from LDS records long before SP came on line & not only have I got some dodgy information, it looks like I've got information relating to another Hugh and Agnes Adams interspersed with more recently aquired accurate info from the GROS.

In my records I have my family in Saltoun E Lothian in 1891.

1901 in Inveresk is totally weird & doesn't tally with any family reported info, but the entry is compelling.

A lot of the info I have I know is right as I have the family certificates, Hugh's war records,  and even a letter from the King, and I have reported info direct from Hugh's grandchildren, so I'm trying not to be too despondant.  I just need to revisit this line again when I go to the GROS next.

Thanks for the help with Isaac & John.  As I said, I have no familiarity with Englsih records, so that helps confirm later info.

Gadget,  some of the information is wrong. Yes, I accept that, but did you have to put it so unpleasantly?  as I said, I would look at it at the weekend, as I work away, but you kinda went off on your own anyway.

Please put me on ignore from now on & I promise not to post unless I'm at home with all my records laid out in front of me.  My family did rename later children after those who died in infancy & many did, so I have kept even dodgy looking info until I track down absolutely all the birth and death certs.  I need to update this line with all the new info that is available since I last followd them a good few years ago.

Signing off this board now.

If information is wrong and someone tells me, I do not regard it as unpleasantness. I regard them as being helful. Jen and I were helping you but you seem to be extremely ungrateful. We spent a considerable amount of time helping you.

If you are happy to put up inaccurate  information and neither apologise or thank people, then your manners are sadly lacking.

You are the most ungrateful person that I've ever helped on this forum.

Karen,

Gadget, some of the information is wrong. Yes, I accept that, but did you have to put it so unpleasantly?

I can see no unpleasantness. Gadget simply stated facts. We spent a lot of time trying to assist you, and, indeed, rapidly found the two Sunderland births you wanted. However we discovered very quickly that much of the basic information we had been given was incorrect.

I said, I would look at it at the weekend, as I work away, but you kinda went off on your own anyway.
I asked if you could post a scan of the 'Cranston Sunderland' info and you said you would look at that at the weekend.

We did not 'kinda go off on our own'. If you didn't want us to do any more you should have said so there and then and saved us both a lot of time.
