Hi All,
Bit of a long shot but....
I have my Adams family do a bunk over the Border to England for a few years in the late 1890's with their brood.
They have 3 children born "England", Hugh Adams abt 1885, Remote, Cranston, Sunderland , John Adams abt 1895 and Isaac Adams 3rd May 1898. By 1899 they were back home in the Haddington area.
John died 2 july 1916 at The Somme, and Isaac ( Uncle Ike on his motorbike) died 21 Dec 1982 North Berwick. Hugh is my Grt Grandfather & he died 12 Dec 1960 in Haddington. Does this line ring a bell for anyone? If only they'd stayed for a census!
For Info, the parents are Hugh Adams & Agnes Blyth M 31 Dec 1875 & the rest of the children are:
Charles b abt 1874, Alison, b 8 Jun 1877, William B 3 May 1881, James b 21 Dec 1883, Margaret & George followed on their return to Haddington.
All of my other researchis Scotland based, so I'm stalled for now on these boys, & Hugh in particular. Any hints or info gratefully received.
Thanks
Karen
