« on: Tuesday 19 August 08 02:03 BST (UK) »
Looking for baptism of Titus Illingworth c1800 most likely in the Bradford Parish Church records. He married there in 1822 and stated of this parish.
He is buried at Undercliffe. Any help much appreciated    kress

Kress,
I have found on IGI two references for Titus Illingworth:

1. Titus Illingworth, born 22 Nov 1800, baptised 26 December                   1800.
    Father: Benjamin Mother: Martha.

2. Titus Illingworth birth 1801 Manningham. No other information.

Just because marriage records state 'Of this parish' it is no indication that he was born in the parish! He may have moved into the parish before marriage.
I would suggest that the Osset birth is your best bet.

Kress have you seen these trees? http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi  The writer has put a lot of info on the tree.  You may be connected.  Well worth reading anyway.

Manningham is now part of Bradford I think

Thank you for your replies.  I believe that Benjamin & Martha Illingworth went to USA. They were found on the early census around 1830 so I have been told.  As Titus & Jane called their first son Err/Herr Illingworth(he is well documented in Bradford) I did wonder if this was a family name. I have checked most sources available to me from Australia, but always happy to learn something new. Titus & Jane's family say they were all born at Clayton. This maybe where Titus was born but then again maybe not.  Pity he died before the 1851 census as that would have been useful.   Many thanks for any suggestions to find this illusive chappie.    Kress

Kress,
I have just noticed my stupid mistake!!!
I failed to put in that the Titus I found was baptised at Ossett.
I do not think it is beyond the realms of possibility that he may have been apprenticed in Bradford.
