Recently researching the Cummings from Dysart, I found two maps in the collection of the National Library of Scotland's collection helpful. These can be accessed online.

The 1855 and the 1894 Ordnance survey maps of Kirkcaldy. By zooming in on these large scale plans, I was able to see the names of old wynds and main streets. I believe many no longer exist.
