Hello
I am looking for Birth records for John Flannery born c1854/55 and Ellen Killcurran born c1855/56.
I know they came from Sligo, don't know which part.
I have an 1891 census showing them living in Liverpool and having 4 children.
I think they married in Liverpool, not sure.
They are my great grandparents.
Would love as much info as possible.
Many thanks

Welcome to Rootschat but I'm afraid it's very difficult to search for Irish family information without knowing where in Ireland the family lived (parish if not actual townland not just the county or 'Ireland' is needed to track down church records (if they exist), valuation records, etc.).
Civil registration of births in Ireland began in 1864 and before that date there will be no birth certificate available.
You think they married in Liverpool- have you looked for their marriage in English indexes? that would be the first place to start. The marriage certificate will probably just give you the names of the fathers but will not list a birthplace or other details to start searching in Irish records.

It looks like there are 3 townlands named Dromore (one of the most popular Irish plcenames) in County Sligo.

Can't see the marriage on freebmd, or lancashirebmd.

Aghadowey, would it be worth looking in the indexes for Ireland at say, the LDS centre?

Almost forgot to mention other place of birth (Ellen's) mentioned in 1891 census: Ballara. Could it be Ballard instead?
Found the following in Co. Sligo (both in Poor Law Union of Dromore West):
Ballard in civil parish of Dromard
Dromore in civil parish of Kilmacshalgan

Irish marriages not available online as English ones are. Oldest child in 1891 census was born c1884 so you probably need to search a few years either side of that date at the very least. Most LDS libraries only stock a limited number of microfilms of certain records and if the indexes have to be ordered it can take a while to get the correct ones.

If you follow the links on the top of the Sligo board there might be some Co. Sligo records online that could help:
