Hi Richard

Mary Trotter's brother Thomas, farmer at Woodhead in Gifford, left a will(1835). There is a mention of Mary in it. It does not shed any light on your dilemma unfortunately.

If you don't have a copy and would like one I could forward you a transcript if you give me an email address.

Regards

I also have the Gifford church Register of Interments. Elizabeth McIntosh who died 1879 is recorded as is Archibald Morrison 1895 however there are no monumental inscriptions and no record of where they were buried in the churchyard. So although Archibald died elsewhere it looks like he was brought back to Gifford by the son John.
