Sydney A Crawley (b.1921)
« on: Thursday 14 August 08 12:11 BST (UK) »
My Grandfather had a Brother, Sydney A Crawley who was born in 1921 in portsmouth, i have found his birth entry, mothers name was 'Bridger'.  Other than that i can't find anything else - marriage, death etc.  Does anyone know anything about Sydney or could you point me in the direction of the info i need?  My Aunties knew nothing of their Uncle Sydney so i'm wondering if he died very young.

Any help will be really appreciated.

Dave

....and birth reg is 1920 -not 1921 -and sidney spelled with an "i" not "y"

Birth reg FreeBMD
Sidney A Crawley
Mother's maiden name Bridger
Dec qtr 1920
portsmouth
2b 848

so the death reg Tati found seems even more of a possiility

Thanks for your help - that seems about right (going to order BC to confirm).  Here's another for you :-)

His father Herbert George Crawley was married to Edith Mary Bridger at Chichester in 1913, they had 3 children:

Leonard George Crawley (b.29th Jul 1914) - Chichester
Winifred Eileen Crawley (b. 17th Oct 1918) - Gillingham
Sidney Allen Crawley (b. 1920) - Portsmouth

I can't find any birth, marriage or death info for Winifred, other than what is written in Herbert Georges WWI service record (which also mentions Leonard).  Herbert was demobbed in 1919 (living in Portsmouth) which is where Sidney was born.  I have all of the addresses they lived at in each location but can't find any info on Winifred or Sidney (but i do know they existed).

Anyone have any ideas?
