Hi Dave,

Saturday sounds OK with me but have to ask OH as he will be doing the driving back down to Palnackie if we don't stay over night in Glasgow
Will sort that out later

I know some are staying at the Premier Inn  but which one I would be happy to stay at one of those hotels ,then we could taxi into the city

Go back to replies 36, 41 and 43.  There were a couple of links there.  Living in Glasgow, I've never stayed overnight in hotels here so don't really know whats a good price.

....and just to re-iterate, if anybody wants to rough it, bring a sleeping bag and one of those foam bed rolls and you're welcome to crash at my place.  I've got plenty of room.  Just no spare beds.

Thanks for kind offer Dave but I am a bit long in the tooth for bed rolls on floors - been there, done that, about ........................ years ago

Have found £27.50 return on Nat. Express train and a VERY nice city centre B&B from £25 a night, waiting for their reply for exact cost.

It does sound a bit steep but as I originally booked on my own I thought somewhere like that would be better for me.  Although £25 sounds real good.     Dave's offer came to late as I had already booked  and I think I may be a bit too old for sleeping on floors too.

I'm taking the easy route - train so I don't have to navigate myself through a strange city and B&B's are better value than hotels, I could write a book on B&B's :-) No parking problems either, as long as there are no "leaves on the line" for my train :-)
