1861 census look up request
« on: Wednesday 26 January 05 17:38 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for 2 people in the 1861 census; they were to get married in November of the same year and were living in St Margarets Ilketshall, Suffolk, near Bungay.

They were James Brown, aged 27/28 (profession ratcatcher) and his fiancee, Harriet Tippell/Tipple aged 22/23 (profession not known but possibly glover?).

Would appreciate a look up for these 2 if poss.

Thanks for your time
Alison

PS neither of them could write and their ages vary hugely from census to census

Thanks very much for looking, I seem to be drawing a blank everywhere locally in 1861. I know they lived in Bungay later, 71/81/91/01 but can't find them before their marriage in 61.

Perhaps they werein Norfolk?  They are right on the border.

Best wishes
Alison

I eventually tracked them down in Spexhall nearby so thanks for asking.

Best wishes
