Hi, Raylen.
Yes, that is my amendment. There is no Richard Spins anywhere else, so it must be Spiers, I would imagine. I have not had sight of the actual record itself, as I do not have World membership of Ancestry until I win the Lottery!  The actual document apparently states his age, place of birth, etc, which would verify that it really is Richard Spiers  - and it might give a snippet or two extra!
Thanks very much for your help; it is much appreciated.
Best wishes, Bluesky.

Hi Magoo,
Thanks so much for your comprehensive list of info from the Anthology. Top marks!
His omission from the assignment register is interesting.  I wonder what that implies? That he was given government-based work such as road building?  Or just that the register is incomplete?  Food for thought, certainly.
Smashing research.
I wonder how he ended up with Port Stephens being mentioned on his Ticket of Leave? Did convicts do anything notable in Port Stephens?
Thank you for confirming so many details for me and for helping me think about where to go next with the history of my great great great grandfather's life.
Grateful thanks, Bluesky

Hi, Jenn.
Richard's wife was called Mary, nee Lintot.  She died in Alton, Hampshire, in 1833.  Thanks for your continuing interest. Bluesky

Will see if I can find something else out for your convict at the library this week.

Do you have the information from the Shipping Indent (physical description etc)?

Gary Spiers

Hullo Gary, Bluesky has not been online for nearly five years, lets hope he/she still has the same email and will get the notification. But until then have you made any further progress on Richard senior in your tree search.? Do you need any help.
