1922 marriage look up for James William Rushton and Mabel helm *completed*

 Hi not sure quite where to post this on the main Lancs board or Look up requests board....so here goes

It is for a marriage in 1922 info as follows. (infor from Lancs bmd)

RUSHTON James William HELM Mabel Blackburn, St John (ref entry 279 )

I would be very grateful for all the info on the marriage certificate if anyone is visiting the relevant archive that would house this record.

I have always been informed that after searching GRO indexes for BMD'S - if further info was wanted - a certificate had to be bought?.

Hi Dolly not with a marriage the look up may  be done (by some kind soul ) at the relevant archives as long as the relevant info is given to aid searching ie entry ref is there -year etc - I have done  this at the Dudley archives and it is the same info as on the purchased marriage certifs.
A birth certificate or death certificate then yes that has to come from the registry office.

Ah, so it's a parish register lookup you want.

Any chance you can narrow it down to a quarter using the GRO indexes?  I'm hoping to pop into the Lancashire Records Office tomorrow after work, but my time will be limited.

Hi yes it is a Parish register look up I am after.
When I go to Dudley I look at the year and that entry no takes me straight to the page does it not work the same way at the Lancs archives on the film readers?

As it is very kind of you to offer but I didnt want anyone wading throught months of entries as I know I like to go straight to it.

Hi this is the entry taken from the Lancashie bmd and as with the Midlands one it is so helpful in finding the entry by using the last 3 numbers .
