thats what ive found re William the policeman,he"s listed on the 1881 census,gone by the next one.

As for his mum Harriet....i think i may have found her in the 1871 census,living as a lodger in Westbury.
Not definite its her yet though.

its not she is unmarried through the cencuses but still looking for her
