Sorry, he was an adult then (no age given).  Wonder if his mom might have been a Hawkins by his middle name.

James Hawkins Tizard wife's name was Margaret Martin Tyrrell Bartlett, the daughter of John Bartlett and wife Sarah Martin.  Margaret's full name came from her father's will.  I am descended from Margaret's sister Sarah.  We came to the U.S.

Dear Rhodie. Dave Francis and Skeetereater

I have a lot of information on James Hawkins Tizard and his family - too much to post here.

If you could tell me which part of his family you are interested in and what your family relation is, I'll post back with what I have!

Look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Rosagius,

Thank you for your offer of help!   James Hawkins Tizard's wife Margaret Martin Tyrrell Bartlett is my gggg-aunt.  Margaret was the daughter of Capt. John Bartlett & his wife Sarah Martin.  Margaret was chr. 31 Aug 1806 at All Saints in Wyke Regis.  I am missing several pieces of information, and would be grateful for anything that you might be willing to provide to me.  I need the burial dates and places for James and Margaret.  I also need the birth date, death date and death place for James.  I need the birth date for Margaret.  I know she was born in Weymouth, that is where our family lived.  I also do not have the exact date and place of James & Margaret's marriage ( I just have 1st quarter 1849 in Dorchester Dist.  Since James & Margaret were married rather late in life, do you know if James was married prior to his marriage to Margaret?

Margaret's sister Elizabeth honored James by naming her son James Hawkins Tizard Beale.

This is pretty exciting for me!  Margaret's sister Sarah married Thomas Burt of Marnhull, and they came to the U.S. in the 1830's.  I grew up down the road from where they settled, and this is the family that got me interested in genealogy 30 years ago.   Thank You for replying.  Roger.
