Hi Roger
I am really pleased that I have found the photos of your Grandparents. Originally when I first started my family tree I thought they were relatives but members of my family didn't recognise them and then it came to me that it was Mr and Mrs Yellop, that's when I asked Rootschat for verification. My parents used to reflect on the time they stayed with them during the war and kept in touch by post right up to after the 1960's. It would be interesting to see if there was any photos of my parents in your collection. According to the letter my parents and my eldest brother who was a baby, stayed with them when my Dad was stationed at North Walsham, my Mother was originally from Oxford.
The letter your Grandmother wrote was a reference ' To whom it may concern' saying that my Mother had resided with her for the past 9 months with her baby, this must have been my eldest brother who was born during the war.
It's also interesting that your Great Grandfather was in the police force, my mother's Great uncle was a police constable from Loddon in Norfolk he got posted to London.
I am seeing if the letter will scan and I will let you see it.
Regards
Pat
