Hi

Please could someone help with details on the following family orig. from Sheerness, Kent, England then moved to Simonstown, SA.

William Jospeh WRIGHT born 1857 Sheerness.
Elizabeth Anne Rixon born 1860 Sheerness.
Married in Sheerness in 1875.

William was a Chargeman of Shipwrights

I think he arrived in Simonstown in 1902 unaccompanied and his family came later as his wife was very pregnant at the time.

William Joseph served for short periods in Vancouver, Ascension Island and Bermuda during his career. He was appointed second-in-charge of the Naval Construction Department at the Cape Town dockyard after the outbreak of WW1. He retired in 1920 and paid a final visit to Sheerness soon after, before retiring to Simonstown.
