houston,huston,haston, dever

Wondering if anyone can help.  I'm looking for the Houston,(Huston, Haton) family from Donegal.  They may have been from Tyrone in the early 1800'S, but I can't find anything.
I have found that John Huston was born in abt 1845 to 1847 in either Donegal or Tyrone.
He married Mary Anne  Dever in  1867 in Ireland.
He immig. in to USA in 1881 or 3.  He was a Moroccan finisher.
His wife Mary immig. to US in 1885.
Four children born, 2 children lived
Son Henry born Sept 1867
Mary Therese born  born 1880.
They left from Moville, Ireland on  the Cirassia and arrived in NY.
They lived their entire lives in Philadelphia, Pa.
Andrew Dever and Henry Dever were listed as boarders. I think they were relatives of Mary Anne Dever Houston.
Mary Therese Huston(Hastin, Houston) was my grandmother.
I will be in Ireland in September and would love to be able to find something of my family.  I am working on it, but hit a brick wall in Ireland.............I did find a John Henry from Donegal.  Don't know if their is a connection.  He was born in 1885.  His mother is listed as Anne Osbourne.
Thank you in advance if someone can help,
BillyC

Many thanks for this find.
We are reaching the time where we can stand on soil of our family.
I guess Mary Houston, Huston's father was from Tyrone.  She had the family certain she was from Tyronel.  She named her son's dog the Duke of Tyrone.   Just to let you know..........we have been down so many wrong roads, and were about to through in the towel.
Thanks for building up our confidence and hope.

mary may have been still from tyrone, maybe it was john who was from donegal. perhaps because of his work they went to live in donegal, normally they would marry in the brides parish. tyrone and donegal are not that far apart. ireland then was the one country ruled by england until 1923 when six counties stayed part of britain (tyrone being one of them) while the rest ( donegal being one of them) became the republic of ireland.

If you request one of the birth certs from Letterkenny you will know the precise townland family lived in. You could also request a marriage cert. Stanorlar is a registration district - births could have occurred anywhere in the disrict.

We received Mary Houston's* marriage certificate.
It states that she if from Donegal.  We have a certificate on Henry and his is from Donegal.  Thank you for your help.
We have solved one mystery and now on to the other  999.
We are looking for William Cummins*, in fact 2 of them.
One born in 1821, was an overseer in a flax mill .  He was my 3 x grandfather. 2 x grandfather born  in 1846 ( have birth record).  He was born in Preston, England on Bow Lane  We  can't find him on any other census in England.   We assume he went to Ireland.  We find other children born to Margaret and William (1821) in Ireland.  William is listed as a mechanic and Margaret is listed as a cloth reeler on William's  birth certificate.  We find her later on, but no William..  Most of their  children were born in Ireland (oldest ones 1853-1858).
We know William must have been around at that point because of the  children.  We find it odd that William and his brother never appear again on the English  census.  The next time we find them is 1867-68 in Philadelphia Pa. They were machinists . We are looking for roots in Ireland.  We would love to fill in the missing pieces.  Would share what we know and learn more.

Hi Mary,
Margaret Kenney, daughter of William Kenney.  He was a Currier.
We do not have any idea of where she came from in Ireland.  or if indeed that is where she was born.   We assume they were from Northern Ireland.   The assumption came from reading and the fact they were  working in the cloth mills.   We will be in Ireland next week and are pulling out all straws to see if we can find anything.
Thanks,
BillyC
