the only link i have to rhoda with smith is 1891 census in walthamstow
james smith 50 born bucks (think this may be rhodas brother who signs her marriage to theophilus scarrott)
fanny 48
william son 24 hillington
john lee 4 nephew   dont know who he is but on next census 1901 james and fanny are with the brinkleys and job brinkley married lavinia lee.
the next census year they have aged much more and are with the brinkleys and penfolds
1901 Edmonton
James smith 70 Hillingdon
fanny 69 west wycombe
james brinkley 57
ann56
joseph shaw 31 who is actually job brinkley
lavinia wife 28 shes lavina lee who married job brinkley
leander9
joseph 7
rodney 5 months
Esther Shaw 65 beds (actually esther brinkley nee loveridge aka haynes whose mother in law was the shaw!)
lemmie 17
louisa15
Jane Penfold aunt 39 islington shes the wife of rodney brinkley son of esther above
priscilla dau 12 think shes the priscilla penfold who marries rhodas son edward in 1926, although they have several children before they are married starting in 1905 when shes 15
rodney son 1 edmonton
I think jane went with Richard Penfold first and had priscilla, james and robert, he either died and went off and she then went with rodney brinkley and they had rodney in edmonton in 1900 - his bapt has him them all down as penfolds, rodney penfold, jane penfold and son rodney.
You can see why i have trouble with this lot, they never keep the same name twice, their ages are always different, they say they are born in different places (rhoda on 3 census has 3 different birthplaces in 3 different counties)
James and Fanny camp at folly lane meadows in walthamstow at different times and rhoda does too, she dies there in 1912.

it seems to me that betty has most things about rhoda once she married.we must concentrate on getting her early.rhoda is quite a common name ans smith well speaks for itself!!!sinfoy on the other hand is a bit rarer!what other spellings do people know of for sinfoy as i dont think thats the correct spelling and we will proberly have to try everything!!!

cathay, betty here, thanks for posting up rhoda smith. The post that says she is dau of William Smith and Sinfoy may only be supposition, nothing concrete has been found to connect her, unless anyone can tell me different. What is known about her is married 1862 Theophilus scarrott, grandson of the mentioned William Scarrott and Mary Whitehouse. Had children counceletta 1863 m walter brinkley. william 1866 hes on 1881 census stoke hammond on green with a Johnny and Kesiah Smith both from Oxfordshire. Rhoda went with Valentine Brinkley son of william brinkley and anne shaw (her daughter Counseys husbands uncle) and had Valenine 1879, Edward 1881, James 1877. James died 1907 Edmonton, but more is known of Edward, he married Priscilla Penfold (not sure of her parents) They married 1920  Chipping Barnet and had
Reuben 1926        i think they are pretty sure her dad was william smith and they think her mum might have been sinfoy smith.i dont know that that is the right spelling for her first name. i am not sure about her birthday but i think it was about 1849
Annie
Lena 1909 d 1982     right who for definate are rohoda smith perants?what else can we find here?more links with smiths?coopers?penfolds?scarrotts?only one day to go........then its another hunt all together.....see you as soon as i get up.cathayb
rhoda 1922 d 2000 maarried john scott from mitcham
jane 1919 d 2001 married ned gumble
frank 1913 d 1979
edward 1907 d 1928
priscilla 1904   born edmonton.

Walter brinkley senior (brother of Valentine above) married Esther loveridge also known as Henrietta Haynes (her mother was a Caroline Haynes, her father Levi Valentine Loveridge), Walter and Esther had:-
Sidney 1865 married Leander Smith and they had Sidney 1898
Rodney married jane penfold and they had fambridge 1897 rodney 1900 and priscilla 1889
Job married lavinia lee and had moses 1897 and frederick 1903
Hannah Mazella 1878
Sophia Alice Brinkley aka Haynes married a Christopher smith and had cissy, elijah, frederick, rodney, sophia and christoper. Sending you a family history report of them
