Hi alli,

Elizabeth aged 70 is the Widow of William Rossiter.

It looks like William aged 11 could be Charles's brother.

The large age gap suggests there could be other siblings if that is true.

William the father died before 1841 but I do not have his year of birth.

Elizabeth the widow was born circa 1769 but I do not know when she died. The censuses indicate that it must be between 1841 and 1851.

Elizabeth was born out of county. William probably was too but I do not know where they were born. I'm wondering if it was Gloucestershire.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes

Hi Researcher99,

I may have some answers for Aaron Rossiter's family because he was my Gt-gt-grandfather and I have done some research on this part of the family.

Hi Bruce,

It looks to me that Charles ( the Charles born circa 1810 married to Mary Ann posted by Cariad) is the brother of Aaron ( son of Moses) who married Lovey Bowman ( and others!!).

Does this match with your thinking and the data you have?

best wishes

Hi rcuser,

Yes, the Charles ROSSITER that Cariad has listed is the son of Moses ROSSITER and Mary ELLIOTT. He married Mary Ann BRYANT on July 01, 1832, at St Philips and Jacob, Bristol, England.

The children I have for them are:

Charles b. 1834
Moses b. 1837 d 1842
Lewis b. 1839  d at an early age
Mary Ann b. 1841
Selina b 1846

Charles ROSSITER Jr. married Eliza CHAMBERLAIN and they arrive in Canada on June 13, 1870 with 5 children. He was sponsored by the Bristol Emigration Club.

Edit: Thanks to rcuser, I have corrected the maiden name of Eliza Chamberlain.
