Hi researcher99,

Many thanks for that.

Had another thought about Nangrave. Sometimes, the bride's mother's maiden name was used as a Christian name for the children.

Just wondering what  Eleanor Adelaide Kent mother's maiden name was. That might be worth checking out.

Have a good day.

best wishes

Hi researcher99,

By way of a postscript, are you researching beyond Enid's direct line e.g. at the siblings of Edward Nangrave Rossiter?

Best wishes

Hi rcuser

No, I'm not planning to go beyond the direct line from Enid backwards.

Hi rcuser

Just a thought I had: If the Aaron Rossiter in the Canadian census is the same as the Aaron Rossiter who married in All Saints Bristol in 1828, it seems odd that he and his family were Quakers, since Quakers did not recognise the Anglican Church, and conversion to Quakerism is, I believe, very rare.  Having said that, the birth of Canadian census Aaron does not appear in the Quaker registers, so it looks as though his family were not Quakers, and maybe he did convert. I would welcome your thoughts on this.

Regards

Hi researcher99,

Thanks for your postings. Edward Nangrave's siblings married and gave descendants so Enid may well have cousins or their descendants. The only one I cannot find out about is Anna Catherine born 1859. If you need any information about them please let me know.

As for Aaron, I don't know the reason for his religion of choice but I think that he could not go to Canada unless he was married so he and Lovey married. Rossiters come from a variety of religions both conformist and non-conformist. It's all part of life's rich pattern.LOL!!

Best wishes
