I got this information from the ros davies site

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~rosdavies/SURNAMES/G/Gl/htm

Joseph Glenny of Newry, husband of Elizabeth; father of Henry, bpt. 18 Sept. 1835, Elizabeth bpt 23 May 1837, Joseph bpt 25 Feb 1844, William Isaac bpt 8 May 1846, Isaac bpt 28 Dec 1850 at Newry Methodist church. There is a lot of information on Glenny's on this site but not much on Grandy's. Great site to piece together bits of information that you already have.
Probably lots more children but probably no records for them.
Val

There is information on 3 different Glenny families in this on-line book

Irish Pedigrees or The Origin and Stem of The Irish Nation by John O'Hart, published in 1915

I think the Glenny (No.3) is your family. It gives information from the early 1800's, is a bit confusing as all genealogy books tend to be but has some great information.

Hopefully, either of the two following links will get you to the site.

my mother's grandfather was Robert Glenny, a meal merchant of Newry, and my mother was a daughter of his son Dr Robert Edmund Glenny of Clonallon Rectory , Rostrevor. In the graveyard of Clonallon there is a headstone for Joseph Glenny and his wife, Elizabeth formerly Grandy. Erected by their daughter, Mrs William Orr of Newry and son Henry of Ballarat. There is no date on the headstone. It is of red sandstone and is weathering rather badly in Irish rains.

Joseph shows as a pawnbroker in old street directories.

I have made many family "trees" but too many to put on computer - would have to post to you.

I also have information of a michael Glenny, last living in Geelong, who corresponded with me.

Let me know if you want any more information.

Hi - I'm new to this board, but was looking up Isaac Glenny of Newry and came across this thread.  I am apparently descended from Caroline Glenny, who married a George Godfrey of Newry.  I have her parents as I G Glenny (presumably Isaac George Glenny) and Anne Ogle, but I have no other information for them.  I have so far been unable to tie these Glennys in to the multiple Isaac Glennys found on various websites.

Any help would be gratefully received, thank you.

Hi Hissey

I have details on Isaac George Glenny's parentage and also his and Anna Ogle's other children if that is of any help. Happy to provide as PDF via email.

Best Regards
Jim
